Candles add a fragrant enhancement to living and work spaces and are safe to enjoy, but we encourage care and attention to the following guidelines:

• Always burn candles in a well-ventilated room and on a heat-resistant surface.
• Do not leave a burning candle unattended.
• Avoid drafts, vents, ceiling fans or other moving air pathways to encourage even burning and minimize smoke or a flickering wick.
• Never touch a burning candle or move a candle when the wax is liquid.
• Never extinguish candles with water.
• Make sure a candle is completely extinguished before leaving the room.
• Keep candles out of the reach of small children and pets.
• Never burn a candle on or near anything that can catch fire.

• To start, make sure your wooden wick is about 1/4 inch tall. Use a long match or lighter, and start at the corner of the wooden wick to get your first burn started. If necessary, you can drag the match or lighter along the top, but once the corner ignites it will slowly stretch out over the width of the wick. Because we do not use any accelerants, it may take a couple tries to get the wick to light, but don’t worry, it will light. 

• Once lit, it’s very important to let your candle burn until the pool of melted wax reaches the edges of the vessel. This is called the memory burn, and you may have to let it burn anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour. Doing a proper memory burn ensures you will get the longest life and cleanest burns out of your candle.

• After the melted wax has reached the edges, you can blow out your candle and let it cool. Once cooled, gently pinch the carbon from the wick, either with wick trimmers or between your fingers, and shorten the wick back to about 1/4 inch. Try to make it as straight across the top as possible.

All of our candles our made with a soy based wax. 

It is ok for you to keep the crystals and herbs within the candle, however, be mindful that it doesn’t shift into the wick. If this happens you can use a toothpick or something long enough to push the stones back to the edges of the vessel. If you would love to keep the stone, you may remove it before it has a chance to sink into the burned wax.
